The man with the Iron fist is back again on the silver screens with his newly minted brand extension, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, starring Djharmendra, Bobby Deol and Sunny himself,  reprising the characters they assayed in the first but with an entirely different plot-line and back story. The direction though rests with new friend Sangeeth Sivan who came o the Deols with his 'Cheers' idea and earned a shot at recreating the same old magic but in a completely new setting-London. One of the AD's working on this project was none other than Sunny 's 21 year old son and the story idea came from his wife Linda/Pooja Deol. For Sunny this is an all out family affair with his brother and father sharing the frames with him while his wife and son helped with the back-end stuff.
Sunny says he always expected 'Yamla Pagla Deewana ' to crack-up the audience and the Deol magic will be at it again in the new film set to release in the second half of this year. On asked why the original's director wasnt repeated he says, ' We parted ways after that film and when we decided to make the part 2, Sangeeth was already there with 'Cheers' and it was convenient to have him direct YPD 2 for us. I have worked with him before and enjoyed the experience too."

Sunny is a proud papa today and cant stop gushing about his talented son writing and performing a hinglish rap number for the film. " My son is interested in doing films and this is just the first step towards becoming an actor -which is where his interest lies. A year or two of assisting will hold him in good stead for the future. I want him to know the ropes before he sets into the performance side."
When asked whether he wanted his son to do the things he did ( like joining a short-term acting course and learning dancing, horse riding etc) before he shot for 'Betaab, ' he is quite emphatic in saying no. " I wouldnt want my son to do those things because that is really not what acting is all about. That is merely piecemeal talent plugging and doesn't help in the long run. A stint behind the camera is much more of a learning experience." he says.
On the long hiatus between films, he says, " I am itching to get back in front of my audience. I have had
a long break and now want to do a lot of work. This year I have three films coming out- 'I Love New Year, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 and Mohalla Assi' and I hope next year too will be equally fruitful." he said as he rushed to the airport to catch a flight for further film related  promotions to be held in Delhi and Kolkata.
