When a producer is just too scared to show his film to the press you know what that means. ‘Trip to Bhangarh’ is one such film. It’s selling point is that it’s based on the legend of Asia’s most haunted place- of an 18 year old Rani Ratnavati and her secret lover- a tantric who had used his magic tricks to cast a spell on her but never succeeded fully. The princess eventually saw through him and as a consequence he was killed. But before that he cursed the city with an impending destruction. A year later, the city stood destroyed and almost everyone , including Ratnavati, perished.

A series of strange incidents thereafter lent credence to the haunted place theory. A strange intoxicating smell greets the new visitors at Bhangarh. And this is followed by  Nightmares, accidents and scary experiences but none of that make believe stuff works.

It’s all done so sloppily that there’s very little purchase. The acting is amateurish, the sequences are far more humorous than scary and the attempt to titillate is off-putting to say the least.  Best avoided!
