The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has evolved into a major forum for Indian and world cinema. Started in 1952, IFFI has established itself amongst the leading film events across the globe.
The 46th International Film Festival of India (IFFI-2015) is scheduled to be held in Goa from 20th  to 30th November, 2015. Feature films from all continents will compete for the 'Golden Peacock' best film award carrying a prize money of Rs. 4,000,000 or CAD 80,000 (approx.). Total prize money is US $ 200,000 (approx.).
This year again, with its 46th edition, International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is all set to bring a cinematic extravaganza in the ‘Beach Capital of India’, Goa from 20 Nov to 30 Nov 2015. One of the biggest Film Festivals of Asia is back with more International colours

                    
The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is the oldest and biggest international film festival in the Indian subcontinent. Its founding principle centres on discovery, promotion and support of film making of all genres – thus bringing together the diversity of the forms, aesthetics and content.

From Satyajit Ray to Bertrand Tavernier, Akira Kurosawa, Marcello Mastrioni to Roman Polanski and Mira Nair to Dibaker Banerjee, the International Film Festival of India, has witnessed the glorious presence for legendry and young filmmakers from every continent.

Continuing the incredible legacy of five decades, IFFI-2015 is going to provide an excellent opportunity for filmmakers and film lovers to watch, appreciate and learn the art of film making in sylvan surroundings and a relaxed creative environment in Goa. It will also provide a great platform for networking with some of the best industry professionals from India and abroad.

The list of international guests who attended Goa in 2014 includes Wong Kar Wai, Slawomir Idziak, Mohsen Makhmalbaf and Marzieh Meshkiny, Australian filmmaker Paul Cox, Israeli filmmaker Dan Wolman, noted Polish filmmaker Krystof Zanussi, Korean filmmaker Jeon Soo-il, Zhang Ziyi, and Chinese actor Tony Leung Chiu Wa.

To be held from 20th November 2015 to 30th November 2015 at the quaint beach town of Goa, the 46th International Film Festival of India’ is all set to become more global and International this year. The ten day cinematic fiesta of films, celebrities, glamour and cinematic excellence will showcase movies across sections including Indian and International Panorama, Indian and Foreign Retrospectives, tributes, special focus, workshops, short films, Master Classes and the Film Bazaar etc.

Based on the ancient Indian philosophy of Ayam bandhurayam neti gananā laghuchetasām, Udāracharitānām tu vasudhaiva kutumbakamwhich is an extract from the Vedic scripture Maha Upanishad, meaning ‘One is my brother and the other is not – is the thinking of a narrow-minded person. For those who are broad-minded, liberals, or noble people, the entire world is a one big family’, the festival is based on the theme of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakamwhich translates to The Whole World is One Family’.

Organised by the Government of India in association with the State Government of Goa, the International Film Festival of India is an endeavour to understand the various social and cultural ethos through the eyes of cinema. Moving from the artistic centres of Asia to the cinematic arena of the world, the festival’s founding principles centre on discovery, promotion and support of filmmaking of all genres, thus bringing together the diversity of the forms, aesthetics and contents.

With an aim to provide a common platform for the world cinema to project the excellence of the film art, the festival, which demarcated into National and International Panoramas, will screen movies both from the feature and non-feature sections. To be hosted at various venues across the scenic locales of Goa, the festival aims to showcase the best of cinematic talents across the world.

FILM BAZAAR

NFDC organises the Film Bazaar (20th - 24th November 2015, Goa Marriott Resort), South Asia’s Global Film Market, a platform exclusively created to encourage collaboration between the international and South Asian film fraternity. The Bazaar is focused on discovering, supporting and showcasing South Asian content and talent, in the realm of filmmaking, production and distribution.

A converging point for film buyers and sellers from all over the world, the Bazaar also aims at facilitating the sales of world cinema in the South Asian Region.

In its 8th edition in 2014, Film Bazaar saw an attendance of 1042 delegates from 38 countries.  The festival, which already is regarded as the best in Asia, is vying to be the best in the world this year with new attractions, international and national film dignitaries.

All in all, 46th International film Festival of India 2015 is all set to offer the best of cinematic fiesta of movies, glitz, celebrities and movie selections to media, filmmakers, students and film enthusiasts in Goa from 20-30 November, 2015.
