#Ki&Ka (Hindi) Rating: * * ½ ‘Branding’ Against the stereotype. A film length advertisement for female emancipation through Reverse role-playing against the gender stereotype, this film directed by Balki is typically conceptual, also facile but doesn’t resound as realistic. Subversion of the accepted norm appears to be what Balki is hoping to achieve but the presence of Amitabh-Jaya belies that and makes this more of a homage to their #Abhimaan. As expected, considering Balki is a renowned adman, a surfeit of in-film brands help the budget along, there are moments of levity and easy going camaraderie between the actors but the palpable chemistry needed to make this believable and plausible, is missing! #TheDivergentSeriesAllegiant(English) Rating: * * ½ This young adult ‘gamey’ adventure series sequel follows the ‘rote’ route to deliver it’s goodies. Although “Allegiant” does recapture the original film(Divergent)’s sensibilities, it doesn’t quite hit on unique notes to disburse it’s concocted pleasures. While it may not be uniquely exciting, it’s got enough tension and action to keep you absorbed within it’s short runtime.
