The film starring John Boyega will release in four languages – English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu
Pacific Rim Uprising, sequel to one of Hollywood's most popular sci-fi films is all set to hit theatres in India. The film, starring John Boyega and Scott Eastwood, is directed by Steven S. DeKnight and will release in India on 23rd March, 2018. Pacific Rim Uprising will hit the theatres in four languages and multiple formats – English in 2D, 3D, 4DX & IMAX 3D format and in 2D & 3D format in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The globe-spanning conflict between otherworldly monsters of mass destruction and the human-piloted super-machines built to vanquish them was only a prelude to the all-out assault on humanity in Pacific Rim Uprising.
Set on 2035, ten years after Jake Pentecost’s father, Stacker Pentecost (Idris Alba from Pacific Rim) gave his life to secure humanity’s victory against the monstrous “Kaiju”, his rebellious son Jake Pentecost abandons his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through our cities and bring the world to its knees, he is given one last chance to live up to his father’s legacy by his estranged sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi)—who is leading a brave new generation of pilots that have grown up in the shadow of war. As they seek justice for the fallen, their only hope is to unite together in a global uprising against the forces of extinction.
Director DeKnight expressed his excitement when he John Boyega showed interest in joining the cast of Pacific Rim Uprising. The director said, “I was thrilled when I found out that John was interested. I met with him, and we were both very excited about the possibilities of what we could do with the franchise. He’s a classic hero, but can play the hero and the anti-hero at the same time. Jake Pentecost starts out as a thief and ends up saving the world. John has all the qualities you would want for that type of role; he’s charming, smart and funny. He brings a real Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones quality to the character.”
Joining John Boyega is another charming actor – Scott Eastwood. In the film, Boyega is joined by gifted rival pilot Lambert played The Fate of the Furious’ Scott Eastwood and 15-year-old Jaeger hacker Amara (newcomer Cailee Spaeny), as the heroes of the PPDC become the only family he has left. Rising up to become the most powerful defence force to ever walk the earth, they will set course for a spectacular all-new adventure on a towering scale.
Pacific Rim Uprising releases in India on 23rd March and promises to keep you on the edge of your seat with stunning action sequels and visuals.
